How To Join
Any person is welcome to speak to one of the pastors during the time of the worship service called the invitation. When a person comes to speak to one of the pastors, he or she will be introduced to an Encourager. The Encourager will take that person to a room where they can talk together privately. The Encourager will try to help each person understand the decision they are making. When a person desires to join Trinity Baptist Church, they can do so in one of four ways.
A person can join by their profession of faith: this is the first time they have publically acknowledged they have accepted Jesus Christ as the only way to know God personally. When a person commits themselves to Jesus Christ they will want to follow in believer's baptism as quickly as possible. Believer's baptism means to be immersed, put under the water, after a person has expressed their faith in Jesus Christ.
A person can join by baptism: they know they have a personal relationship with God, but they have never been baptized, put under the water, after trusting Jesus for their forgiveness of sin.
A person can join by transfer of letter: a person knows they have a personal relationship with God, and that they have been baptized after expressing their faith in Christ Jesus alone, and they have been a member of another Southern Baptist Church.
A person can join by statement of faith: a person knows they have a personal relationship with God, they have expressed that faith publically, and have followed through in believer's baptism.
Next Step
Next Step is a four-hour course which is required for membership. Every person who wants to join Trinity must complete Next Step to become a member. During those four hours, you will gain a better understanding of Baptist heritage in general and of Trinity Baptist Church specifically.
